Serendip began in 2020, at home.
What started as a creative outlet for founder Chelsea Bales quickly became something more. Chelsea had always been drawn to fragrance and the way a familiar scent could instantly bring her back, to a home, a person, a season, or a moment.
She partnered with her mom, Lisa, to make candles with her, and together they spent months learning the craft, testing formulas, and pouring more candles than they could count. Eventually, they landed on the scents that felt right, and Serendip was born.
Over the years, the family behind Serendip has grown. Chelsea's aunt Diane joined the team, and what began around a kitchen table has remained very much a family affair.
Today, Serendip creates candles and fragrance inspired by memory: the places we've been, the people we love, and the ordinary moments that somehow stay with us. Each scent is designed to feel familiar in a way you may not immediately be able to place, a reminder of just how closely scent and memory are intertwined.
Because sometimes a fragrance doesn't just make a room smell beautiful. It takes you somewhere.
